NYC Reflections part 2

You can find a treasure within filthy urban puddles.
(Gili likes this shot. Me, not so much.)

I don't remember which building is a reflection and which is real.

Sometimes you have to look at what is not there.

Window reflection in Chinatown.

This is the shadow of an art installation at MOMA.

NYC Reflections part 1

I have a bit of a fascination capturing reflections of all sorts, because they provide a photographer with an opportunity to capture images that do not really exist. I spent time in NYC back in june, and Manhattan's skyscrapers offered some great opportunities for interesting shots. I'll update another post with a few more shots of street-level reflections.

Sugar Refinery

A few images from the sugar refinery by Cherry Street. In addition to a great view of the Toronto skyline, there are many other interesting objects to shoot.

West Coast BW

These are a few images from last summer's trip to Alberta and BC. I recently decided to retouch them in black and white to see if they have more impact this way.

you can call it Zen (if you'd like)

This picture is from Algonquin Park. I took it just as the sun was setting, and the water became still.

Abstract -

I took this one at the back of a club in Halifax, NS. I like the colours and the strong lines.

Bananas

I shot these poor bananas on the living-room table. Charlie Finley, a very talented sax player and composer, was inspired to set some of these images to music - check out the video! You can view his other work here: www.charfin.com

TO truck skyline

Taken from the sugar refinery. I like the juxtaposition of the familiar skyline of our city, and the desolate, industrial landscape suggested by the truck.

Girl holding sheet of ice

This girl and her sister were trailing me at Angel Glacier, Jasper, as I was photographing sheets of ice between the rocks. They repeatedly picked up these sheets and smashed them on the rocks behind me. As the girl's mom screamed at her to stop disturbing a stranger, I took the opportunity to snap this one.

Tree Trunks in Winter

These images were taken at Cedarvale Park, a few minutes' walk from my house, last winter. I love the lined trees that carry the eye of the viewer to the upper left corner and beyond.
