Weekend Getaway at Niagara On the Lake

Gili and I decided sort of last minute to get away for at least part of the weekend, so we can  refrain from going crazy over wedding planning and registering for pots and pans at The Bay. So we spent Sunday and Monday morning in a B&B at Niagara On The Lake. The day was sunny and warm, and we had a fun time riding borrowed bikes, tasting wine, and taking in the natural scenery.

We borrowed bikes from the B&B that we stayed at and rode a  trail along the water that led toward the wineries. We asked these ladies if we are headed in the right direction.

We found a secret path that led all the way down to the water. I think there was a stone hidden in the water right under the tree, that created little circular waves around it. You can see it if you take a closer look.

This was a beautiful area outside Kurtz's Market (www.kurtzorchards.com/), where we had lunch. If you are in the area, make sure to pop in. You won't leave empty handed. While we were waiting for our sandwiches to be made, we got to taste many of their jams, mustard, and topping varieties. All were excellent, and by the time our sandwiches were ready, I wasn't hungry anymore.
